Race Day

Saturday, 14 November 2026. The race is a 10km road race starting at Oshigbudu and finishing at Ataganyi, in Benue State, Nigeria.

Assembly time is being confirmed with the organising committee and will be sent to every registered runner by email ahead of race day. Plan to be at the start point well before the flag-off.

Your registration number, a valid means of identification, running shoes and water for warm-up. The final race day checklist will be shared by email once confirmed.

Race pack collection point and times will be confirmed closer to the event and communicated to all registered runners by email and on this website.

Registration

Nothing. Registration is completely free. No payment is required at any point, from us or from anyone claiming to represent us.

Complete the four-step form on the Register to Run page. It takes a few minutes and you will receive a confirmation email with your registration number immediately after submitting.

Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it is still missing, email us with the name and phone number you registered with and we will resend your confirmation.

Yes. Email us with your registration number and the change you need, and our team will update your record.

Categories & Eligibility

Anyone who is physically fit to complete a 10km road race. There are categories for elite men and women, Apa-Agatu indigenous athletes, youth under 18, veterans, para-athletes and open participation.

Runners under 18 may take part in the Youth category, but must provide a parent or guardian's name and phone number during registration.

No. The race is open to everyone. Some categories and community awards are specific to Apa-Agatu indigenes, which is why registration asks where you are from.

Yes. Select the Para-Athlete category during registration and tell us what assistance you need so we can plan properly for you.

Volunteering & Sponsorship

Complete the volunteer form on the Volunteer page. Volunteers must be 18 or older. You will choose one area of interest, such as route marshalling, registration, hydration or medical support.

Send an enquiry through the Sponsorship & Partnership page. Tiers run from Title/Presenting through Gold, Silver, Bronze, Supporting Partner and In-Kind. Our partnerships team responds to every enquiry directly.

Yes. The Foundation for Apa-Agatu Development runs year-round community work. Reach out using the contact details on this page and we will share the ways you can support.

Safety & Medical

Yes. Medical teams, ambulances and hydration points are planned along the route and at the finish line, working with local health authorities.

So that our medical team can respond quickly and correctly if anything happens to you on race day. This information is held securely and used only for the event.

The route is managed in partnership with security agencies and local authorities, with marshals stationed along the way. Runners must follow marshal instructions at all times.
